Excellent cross country at Kilmarnock for the Scottish National Masters on Saturday, sunny and cool and good underfoot round the playing fields and out into farmland and back. Women were 12th team and men 18th (and 11th M50) and Gibbie was 2nd M70. Other Westies were there in other guises, notably Chris collecting more gold
I ran this race today and so did Cat and Neil, and Elizabeth cyclocrossed it. The forecast had threatened double raindrops though mild, but all was benign on the line at Irvine Sports Club. A big lap of the sports fields first, taking care to avoid slidey cyclists, then over the river to the moor.

This was a fundraiser for Edale Mountain Rescue, a 20 miler point-to point along the gritstone edges of the Peak District, from Ladybower Reservoir to near Chatsworth House in Derbyshire. More of a long distance event than a race, some 300 folk were walking or running the route or mountain biking 40miles with some even
