Aonach Mor – 1st January 2014

A great way to start 2014 off, a wee uphill race Aonach Mor on New Year’s Day. We left Kingussie at 9am, after getting Maisy up at 8am after dragging her to a party & fireworks in Newtonmore on Hogmanay, well she has to get used to these late nights, lots to eating & drinking

Knockfarrel

Results Set off from home this morning to achieve my 100th Hill Race recorded on Chris’s site since I started running in 2007 so very pleased to have had a great run.  Was a bit cool to start with but within 5 mins  was overheating us usual.  Conditions were perfect, lovely clear day with nice views

CAT – Cairngorm Adventure Triathlon

CAT  – Cairngorm Adventure Triathlon Manny & I were thinking of doing this event but we thought we would wait until after the Ben to see how we were feeling as it was the following Saturday 14th September.  Just as well we did not enter together as Manny came down with “Man Flu”, again……  Tried

Laggan 10K & Race The Train

2 local races for me this w/e, back to back followed by a bit of wine in between as I was getting led a stray by the bog trotters in Newtonmore.  Laggan 10K yesterday followed by Race Train today, from Boat of Garten to Aviemore.  Weather for both races was really hot but

Vitrified Fort

Another Winter league race for Lochaber, 5 miles 350 meters, with 1 more race to go in 2 weeks time. A lovely drive through from Kingussie to Fort William on Sunday morning, mainly Lochaber runners other than a few add ons. I was pleased with my run, but thought I would make under the hour to

Results A lovely day for a drive to Strathpeffer for Knockfarrel Hill Race with Ali & Geoff from HBT.  It was a gorgeous sunny day & a good  turn out of over 50 runners.  I was the only Westie for this race (so lots of bonus points).  It was pretty muddy to start with before

Ben Rinnes Hill Race

I will let someone do the report for the race but I certainly enjoyed the walk up Ben Rinnes before the runners appeared. Maisy & I got the top, had lunch then cheered on the few Westies that appeared at this championship race. Pat, Shona, Paula, Brian, JD, Manny, (another yellow shirt sorry can’t remember

Lochaber Cow Hill

Results My first race since Carnethy and did I struggle with it. Manny was not going to do as he was still recovering from the Corrieyairach Challenge on Saturday so I thought I would give it a bash as it was only 2 miles & 900ft climb. It was the 3rd race of the Lochaber

Meall a’ Bhuachaille

Results You’ve got to start somewhere, with no training & no excuses as Manny was on Maisy duty thought I better give this race a go. It was a bit cool to start with but I knew after 10 mins I would be red & puffing away. By the time I reached the top of
