Two Breweries

Today felt more like spring than autumn. And as the sun burnt off the early morning mist while we gathered in Traquair we realised that we were in for a treat.

The Two Breweries maybe the best race on the calendar – it packs everything that makes hill racing brilliant into one race… a fantastic, varied point-to-point route through the hills surrounded by friends, all topped off by lots of superb beer and banter waiting for you at the finish.

There were lots of highlights for me, but here are a few:

– Manny organising a team photo at the start, gathering the mass of Westies successfully – but where was the camera?

– Returning the ‘grab my leg’ cramping favour to James – think that makes us even now.

– Captain John running with a V on his back – not sure if it was a V for victory, maybe it was his 5th Breweries race, or maybe he just needs a new vest?

– The WESTIES cheers at Glenrath and the top of Trahenna – thanks for all the support guys.

– Seeing the 4 Westies lambs having a great afternoon.

– All the superb Westies performances from the young and experienced alike.

– Oh yeah, and all the beer at the end!

And a huge thanks to Elsie and Pete for organising another cracker!
