Scottish Vets Half Marathon

I’d never really taken part in any of the Scottish Masters events, so I thought I’d give their Half Marathon a bash.

The race starts at Clydebank, and heads out along the canal towpath for 6.5 miles before turning. Then once you reach the startpoint again you’ve got about 160 metres to the finish.

I set out fast with Paul Thompson, but after the first mile in 5:39 we both eased off and ran together fairly comfortably until 12 miles at which point Paul started pressing the pace. I held on and at 13 miles we both sprinted for the line to make a bit of race out of it for the time-keepers!
