A fantastic turnout of 37 Westies for Carnethy on Sat, brilliant! The weather welcomed us all at the start with sunshine, though windy, and a muddy course proved a bit slower than in previous years. Almost 500 finished the race, which was won in 51m 27s. First Westie was Sam, there were lots of newbies running, lots of regulars and Pat completed her 25th Carnethy, the most any woman has ever done! Well done Pat. I had a great wee race with Dave Calder and Ellie on the final climb, and followed a few other naughty racers down the scree slope which was fun and fast. I managed just to stay ahead of Hilary of Fife A.C.  across the bog and scraped under 75 minutes. It was my 23rd, and first race as a V50, and was chuffed to have ran quicker than I did as a 48yr old! Got to take the small achievements when they come, don’t you! Another great day out and thanks to Carnethy and all their helpers, and of course, all you Westies.
