So the Winter League has kicked off with a fabulous victory over the Shetts at the Grudge Match but it’s not too late to get in race for the precious Plophy (Plate/Trophy).

Cairnsmore Hill Race  Saturday 18 December  Newton Stewart, 7.8miles, 2300ft 
Cyclists v Harriers  Sunday 19 December  Irvine – a cross country race against cyclists where everyone gets a prize 
Xmas Handicap  Tuesday 28 December  An afternoon running in fancy dress round Mugdock and the WHW. 
Callander Crags  Early January (tbc)  3 miles, 1000ft  
Feel the Burns  Sunday 16 January  Entries open on 1 December @ 6am! 13 miles, 3000ft followed by haggis pies and a beer. 
Devils Burdens Relays  29 January (tbc)  Teams of 6, 4 legs of fun in the Lomonds of Fife 
Lock 27 Time Trial  Monday 7 February  Don’t worry if you can’t make the Monday you can complete the run anytime this week, as long as you get the Strava Segment. 
Carnethy 5  February (tbc)  A classic winter warmer – @ 6miles, 3500ft 
National XC Championships  Saturday 26 February  Falkirk 
In the Dark Handicap  Wednesday 9 March  Kilpatricks, up and down the Slacks as fast as you can. 

Scoring: 

2 points for completing each race
4 points for Devils Burdens and National XC Champs
2 points for marshalling at an event

plus bonus points of:

1 point for fastest male/female/non-binary Westie of the day
2 points if you run 4 races
2 more points if you run 8 races (in addition to points for 4 races) 

2 more points for a full set
1 point if 5 or more Westies take part
2 points if 10 or more Westies take part
3 points if 15 or more Westies take part…etc
