Tour of Clydeside – Bella Belter 10k

Final race in the Tour of Clydeside, however I missed last night’s Broadwood 5k, so I wouldn’t be completing the series, but I still had the intention of trying to give Chris Moses and Paul Carroll a run for their money. There were 2 additional runners in the mix at the front tonight with the appearance of Bella Harriers’ Steven Prentice and Cris Walsh.

Once again, I tried not to overcook it at the start, and went through the first kilometre in 3:24. I was running with Paul Carroll for a while, with Chris Moses just in front, but as the race went on Paul and Chris just pulled further and ahead, such that I ran about the last 8km on my own. This made it quite hard to treat as a race with nobody catching me, and nobody to chase, but I kept pressing on hoping I would get under 36 minutes.

At the start of the 2nd lap I started feeling pretty weary and the pace dropped a bit, so my final time was 36:07 for 7th place, on a warm muggy evening.
