The Cioch Mhor Hill Race

Last Saturday a good number of Westies took part in the Cioch Mhor Hill Race. It was an interesting race, a lot of it very runnable, with stiles to get over and a river crossing as well.

My Dad wrote a race report for the 2015 race so I was nominated to write one for 2021.

The race started pretty steeply above Tulloch Castle, on the north side of Dingwall, with a hill top being reached followed by a descent down to the river crossing. From there it was up a 4WD track on to the ridge and then a final steep climb up to the top of Cioch Mhor. That was the half-way point and we then ran back the same route to Dingwall.

Most of the Westies then went out to a restaurant on The Black Isle for an enjoyable evening.
