Great wee race although half of it is on tarmac. A small field of around 30 took part and I, the only westie, was well back in the field, partly due to taking it easy before Jura, and partly because I’m just getting slower. It had been bucketing with rain just 20 minutes before the race started but the actual run took place in bright sunshine although it was a bit parky in the wind. I started steady and then got a touch of ambition two thirds of the way up the hill, maybe i could catch the 4 people 100m or so ahead, caught them and got past but the wee sharp climb back up to the OS point wrecked me and 2 of them got past again ……chased on down through Crieff and was closing in when, thankfully, I ran out of race. Good wee race and would really suit people transitioning from road to hill running.
