Summer League

After individual and team victory at Goatfell, Ronnie is maintaining his impressive lead and is now looking to be uncatchable. The chasing pack are in for a real dog fight in the second half of the season, with the current champ. Don not giving up his title without a fight, even after a couple of days hill bashing in Torridon just prior to the race. Chris put in an impressive shift to hang onto to 2nd spot from Manny for 19 points and keeps a glimmer of hope if Ronnie were to take his foot off the gas. Damon still managed 17 points, despite a spectacular implosion on the last mile of road back to the finish. Ex-champ Murdo keeps his tally healthy with 15 points from Fraser & Crawford who put in reasonable performances.

The Wummin were poorly represented with only Jane & Pat showing up. As we all now know Jane, on one of her many come-backs, had a disaster – getting too friendly with a rock on the way down and ending up stretchered off & flown away to hospital for knee surgery. Oh, for a camera!! Pat was overjoyed, nae – emotional at bagging a well deserved 20 points to catapult her back into contention. Ana, Liz & Elsie all seem to have had a knitting bee on that day which keeps the burds title open for a while yet.

Well done to everyone who made the effort and keep yer passports out for a return to Arran for Glen Rosa on 12th June (and this weekend for Boat Racers!!) Remember, the Shetts. WHW relay is also on that weekend, so lets see who is serious about the league and who takes the easy option out…?
