A 3-lap route through Drumpellier Country Park. A smaller 5km loop, followed by 2 larger 5 mile laps.
I set off with a time of around 1:22 in mind. I stuck with John Duffy and Mike Anderson for a while but eventually got dropped.
By the final 5 mile lap, I was feeling pretty tired and despite trying to press on, I still got caught by Andrew Callan about 600 metres from the end.
My finish time was about 1:23:56, which was a bit slower than I’d hoped for, but it was still a good workout on a Sunday morning.
Robert Gilroy won the race for an impressive 9th year in a row.
