Lock 27
On a balmy and tropical evening (well as tropical as Glasgow gets in October, and the bams were on scrambler motorbikes) six brave Westies came forward for the last little Lock 27 time trial. Yours truly did his best with the handicapping, trying to ensure a close fought race, and set the troops off in their allotted intervals. Before you could say “New course record”, who appears round the far away corner but the redoubtable Captain Chris himself, on the return. I just managed to get the notepad out again and the camera booted up to catch him coming in, then a short gap to all the others giving a fine finish. Well done to Chris becoming the only Westie to beat 16 minutes for this course, and to Nigel, Pat, Nathan, Liz, and Maureen making him race for it.
