Glengoyne Gallop

1995

Perfect weather. Only found out this was the last Dumgoyne race (due to erosion on the hill) at the start line. This definetly inspired me onto a better time than I maight have otherwise produced.

Proceede with my now familiar start to stretch the lungs. Had a very good solid ascent fighting for places with Gibson Fleming. Turned at the top ahead of him and lost him completely on the descent.

Managed to pick off two other places on the way down without losing any at all! Lesley and Kevin both tried the race for the first time. Les produced a repectable 35.25 having driven from the Lake District that morning. Kev was a bit overawed by the steep descending and finished 37.11. I finished in 28.16.
