Glasgow parkrun #227

Results

Hadn’t had a crack at the Pollok Park parkrun for a while so drove over in light drizzle looking forward to some racing. The light drizzle turned into spectacular rain about ten minutes before the start, which had the field of 300+ huddled under trees until the last possible moment.

After the usual scramble down the first slope, Robert Quinn and Kenny Richmond pulled away, along with a chap in a cap. From there, it was a solo run for me, finishing in 4th place, never quite closing the gap on 3rd, and with a fair sized gap back to 5th. Cap guy, sensibly dressed for the elements, won in 16:12, and I got a course pb 17:14.

I spotted one other Westie on the course, Helen, and another afterwards on social media, Graham, in some fancy sandals. Good effort in the rain.
