Conditions: immaculate though slightly down market due to the lack of high winds, snow, sleet, rain etc.

What a battle: White v Bennet v P Rother(wumman). What heights Westerlands is rising to! T Donohue wasn’t there but we were miserable all the same. I’m beginning to grow eyeballs in my shoulder blades watching for the first Westerlands woman in. By the way P Rother was 3 and 4 minutes behind White and Bennet respectively and at least 10 mins in front of Campbell. S Bennet has claimed the title of Westerlands Athletic Champion after finishing 5th out of seven starters in the Dunbartonshire Champs. The only Westerlands competitor to turn out.

Glad to see the men are getting paranoid about the ladies catching up. We’ll keep putting on the pressure gents, even if we can only wear you down mentally.

PS. no comments about the handwriting ‘cos we’re on the bus going to the annual Westies nosh up!
