TINTO SENIOR RACE RESULTS

TINTO REPORT PART 2

What a fantastic day. Best conditions that I can remember for Tinto, though the start was a bit tricky running in to the sun. Found myself in the usual company of Steff and JD on the way up, but Steff put in a superb effort to gradually pull away from us and at the same time JD was doing the same to me. Unknown to me Swaz had sneaked through to be 1st Westie to turn at the top follwed by Steff, JD, me, then Dave Rodgers and I’m not sure who was next Westie over the summit. Now the good part (from my point of view) – I set off after JD and Steff, confident that I could catch the former. Sure enough, I got him about a third of the way down. I think he must have been taking lessons off JBF on how to make himself as wide as possible!!. Next time I,m going to push him over a ledge. Steff came into view shortly afterwards and courteously let me passed (take note JD). Got a few more scalps before the finish to bag 27th place in 37:57, which I believe is a PB for me (more points please Dave!).

A good Westies turn out of 16 means lots of bonus points for those who wisely chose this one over the G U race. Six Westies ran in the junior race (report and results to follow) and once again Deborah Stokoe claimed the only Westies prize coming in 2nd! Main race results below.
