TINTO JUNIOR RACE

20 juniors ran the alternative bad weather course at Tinto this year. The Junior course cut off the main path just before the climb began and traversed below the hill for a few hundred matres before cutting straight up through the heather to rejoin the main path. From here it was a mad dash back down to the finish. this course kept them out the wind and gales.

First in was ‘pocket rocket’ Jamie Stevenson of Ochills (14mins 40secs) who im sure if had in the main race would probably have been in the top 20. First junior westie in was Deborah Stokoe(17mins 29 secs) who was 2nd under 14 female and 9th junior overall.Cameron Reid(21mins 52 secs) was 16th overall and 10th under 14 boy. Rumour has it that Adam Gatens(15mins 59 secs), who was 4th overall in the race, and 2nd under 14 boy may well run 2nd claim for westerlands on the hills!
