Run of the Mill 2014

Results

The 5th running of Run of the Mill was another wet, windy, wild affair.

Champion orienteer Graham Gristwood took the win in 1:10:59, leaving the rest of the field strung out getting battered by some of the strongest winds ever encountered on a hill.

I took turns leapfrogging David Riach and Adrian Davis all the way through to Ben Ever, before they both dropped me on the descent.

Mindy and JD were bravely marshalling on Andrew Gannel and Ben Cleuch, pinned to the ground by the gale force winds.

There were a few anxious moments after the prize-giving when 5 runners had still not appeared off the hill.

It was only after several 999 calls to alert Mountain Rescue and get them on standby that all the runners finally re-appeared.
