WESTIES GO TOPLESS AT GLENMORE

No , it wasn’t Elsie and Christine , but Pete and Ronnie doing their thing on the dance floor at the hillrunners’ do at Glenmore Lodge after the Meall a’ Bhuachaille Hill Race. Ronnie had earlier won the veterans’ prize at the end of year prizegiving – congratulations. Stuart Whitlie and Kate Jenkins of Carnethy won the individual championships and Carnethy won the team ones. There was a great buffet meal and disco afterwards to round off the year’s hill running.

As for the race itself , there was a good turnout of Westies. Ronnie led the way home in 6th place. A good tussle during the middle of the race between four of the Westies resulted in Blair pulling away to finish 27th while I managed to just reel in Murdo and Gordon near the end. Chris showed good form to just fail to beat Kate Jenkins . Christine pulled out early on in the race leaving Lesley to be the only female Westie to finish. Jim Hall let the side down by being the only Westie not to beat long time rival Dave Duncan of Ochils , shame on you Jim. Weather was pretty awful with strong wind and rain on the first summit , but we all struggled on.
