Lock 27 TT

With Nige currently enjoying the volcanoes of Iceland, yours truly was dusted off to hold the trigger finger for our little three mile club handicap blast. Being mid-holiday season and the Glasgow Fair, etc, numbers were down for the summer Lock 27 time trial, but it was summer indeed, as the four that did turn up, said that it was too warm for racing. The gorgeous evening being enjoyed by dozens along the canal bank, Pauline, Caroline, Johnston, and big Peter set off in that order. Not to be totally outdone, as the stopwatch ran for the others, I took a wee jog myself to enjoy the sun, and then they were quickly back. Johnston was first home, scorching a new PB by over two minutes, only to be outdone seven seconds later by Caroline blitzing a new PB of over five minutes. Pauline came home third to take a few secs from her PB also, leaving Peter to come in fourth, but no PB. The reason? The bigman had forgotten to bring a T-shirt and had to run the whole route in his jacket – melting or what!
