CURRY NIGHT – WED 5th NOVEMBER

Details below of this month’s curry house, booked for 9p.m., chosen by Captain Charlie himself – maybe he may even turn up this time ?! Let’s see you all there, no excuses of having to go to any Guy Fawkes’ bonfires.

Looking for something different? Binder Gill’s small and friendly restaurant in Partick is certainly not hindbound by tradition. You will be made welcome, whether you are looking for your breakfast, lunch, tea, coffee, or in the evenings typical Indian fare. Apart from all day breakfasts, which I can personally recommend, at £2.95 (including tea and toast) you can have burgers, pizzas and meals to please curry connoisseurs. You also get the opportunity to participate in the chef’s inventiveness – try ordering different toppings for your pizza. Papa’s pizza is “prepared to perfection using special recipes” including “Scrumptious Italian or Indian”, Bombay Express, Margareta and even Turkish Delight (donner kebab pizza). The House Specialities sound mouthwatering and very reasonable: King Prawn Neelim and Chicken Tikka Pardesi at only £ 5.95 and the old favourite Chicken Curry at £ 4.50. Binder Gill is a very experienced restauranteur and has chosen a good spot (eat upstairs and look out over Dumbarton Road) and has created an interesting restaurant with a very relaxed atmosphere The beautiful chandelier is vying for attention with the mounted Moose’s head which has its antlers covered in a range of headware tossed there by high spirited customers. I can’t wait to go back for an evening soon and enjoy the fine Indian fare and friendly atmospere or maybe I’ll just pop in for a steak pie lunch. ”
