Thought I’d give my local ultramarathon my support again this year, despite being nowhere near as prepared as I was last year. Never mind, treating it as a sort of "journey run/day out" up the Clyde I toed the line at Partick Railway Station. 6hrs 37mins later I dragged my weary but happy body across the finish line in New Lanark, 20 mins down on last year, but still chuffed. I had a good steady first 20 miles, a bit of a wobble between 20 and 30 miles, but rallied a bit on the lovely trails from Mauldslie Woods onwards. Tarmac, trails, woods, rivers this race has it all and superbly organised by Lee Maclean and her team. The winner was about 4hrs 45mins, amazing!
