Alex Brett Cioch Mhor

The only race on this weekend was Cioch Mhor which was great as wanted to run it in memory of big Alex Brett who started the race and sadly died on the hills last year. Jonathan Weir gave me a lift up and we arrived to find a lot of other runners were also there to pay tribute……not sure how many but more than double the usual field. The race is really well organised and marshalled …….14k ….two hills the first of which you do on the way back also…..a lot of running on tracks in the middle of the race but most is on grass or heather. I was the only Westie and bust myself on the first half of the race…..managed to get to the turnaround ahead of my usual contenders and held them off on the way back to take about 10minutes off my last time on the route  …..the spread of food afterwards was impressive and the prize giving didn’t take too long..then back home to the wet part ie the rest of Scotland
