Two Breweries

Saturday opened with sunny skies, with just a touch of late morning mist over what threatened to be a long hot day. As it turned out, there was enough scattered cloud about and sufficient autumn chill in the air to make for rather pleasant running conditions. A list of the usual suspects turned up at the start: Chris, Manny, Alan, Iain, Graham (curiously absent from the result list), George and myself. En route were many familiar faces providing water, jelly babies and words of encouragement. The organisation was as impeccable, the climbs and descents tough, the cunning shortcuts as useless as always, and the road sections relentless. All up, an outstanding day out.

This was my fourth Breweries, previously posting a personal best, worst and in-between in that order. It was with no small relief that I finally improved over my 2008 time, with a 10-minute PB! Well done to everyone who took part; I’m sure I’m not alone in looking forward to the same again next year.
