Big field because of the SHR/SAF meeting afterwards and because of the beautiful weather. Cold but sunny.

Big stan the Czech was also taking part (and his friend Helena).

Having not run since FRA relays 2 weeks ago I was only out to have fun. I felt strong from the start and steadily worked my way up the pack. Settling in behind Brian Bonnyman. A low sun made looking anywhere but your feet impossible and hard to concentrate. I kept my pace spot on all the way and watched Mark, Damon, Ronnie then Stephen pass on their descents. I rounded the cairn with Jimmy Shields and had a jittery start to my descent before stretching out. Was a bit of ice at the summit but the mud was more of a hazard! Shouted Dad on as I passed. I lost 3/4 places at the start of the drop but picked them all back except one by the finish. I was reeling Brian in slowly but I didn’t have the running under my belt to catch him.

Damned cold on the lungs, painful! Well pleased with my run considering I’ve only run once or twice in the past month. Dad had a good run too but was his usual dissappointed self because he was 2 minutes slower than last time he ran it! Big stan made it after a few falls on the bum but enjoyed himself and not being last.

Westies won team prize which was a great way to finish the season. The meeting after was all politics and voting but had to be done. Geat day out.
