Scoring
The Summer League rewards performance. This is your chance to showcase your racing abilities across a range of distances and terrains. It’s all about establishing the ultimate dominance and bragging rights over your fellow Westies (until the next season, obviously). That said, participation counts for a lot, too. By taking a strategic approach and racing or volunteering often, especially at the smaller events, you might end up on the leaderboard without taking a single win. So, brace yourself, summer is coming!
Points are awarded for position among other Westies and separately in categories for women, men, and non-binary. There are three ways to earn points:
- Performance – points are awarded to the first 20 Westies in each race. First in each category at any race receives 1 extra point (e.g. 21 points for first, 19 points for second, 18 points for third… etc.). However, everyone who participates but does not score also receives 1 point.
- Series completion – 21 points for completing SHR Champs (4 out of 6), Long Classics (5 out of 13) and Bog and Burn (6 out of 13) series.
- Volunteering points – 7 points for volunteering in Westies races as a marshal, race organiser, or otherwise.
