A real race today after yesterdays warm-up jog. A howling gale blowing in your face all the way to West Kip fair warms you up. Ken White was passed by old ‘Arnie’ Ritchie near the end and only managed to dip him on the final straight. It is quite untrue that Mr Ritchie hurried off before a urine test was demanded. A distinct lack of our pal from Penicuik, claims a cold of all things! A likely excuse!! The aborted SHRA dinner was attended by a few die-hards who didn’t manage to crawl out of the inn on the hill at a respectable hour.
