This run will follow the hill race route (weather permitting) about 10km with 520m of climb. It will be boggy so wear your grippiest shoes and have enough layers to stay warm, if we have to stand still for any length of time you will get cold quickly. You must have a headtorch and full waterproof body cover.

Meet at the Crow Road car park, Lennoxtown. W3W: https://w3w.co/completed.sourced.onion ///completed.sourced.onion

Please be at the start in good time so the run leader can do introductions and we can organise into groups ready to run at 7pm.

The run will last between 90 minutes and 2 hours at most. We will always try and have at least two groups. One group will have a more social pace which might be ideal if:-

  • It is your first hill run or first night run.
  • You are unsure how your pace will be compared to other runners as you are new to Westies.
  • You are on recovery, back from injury, pre/post-race.
  • You just fancy a more social run with good company.

The other group will be a bit faster. Whichever group you join no one gets left behind.

Each runner must carry waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, a fully charged mobile phone with the run leader’s number (get it on the night). Depending on the weather, terrain, and duration of the run try to ensure that you have enough food/fluids/spare layers. Between September and March runners should bring a fully charged and working headtorch.

Hill running is a high risk sport and all runners are responsible for assessing their own capability when participating. Non-members should contact the committee@westerlandsccc.co.uk before coming to a run.
