Kilmarnock Trail Race

4 trusty Westies (me, Ellen, DaveC and Don) made this fun convoluted jog around Dean Castle Country Park. The route has the most disorientating mix of twists and turns, until you have no idea whatsoever where the finish might be.

Fresh from 200km in France last week, I set out nice and slowly, only bit by bit moving up into 3rd place after about 8 minutes. I then realised I couldn’t possibly keep going at that pace, so backed right off, and simply tracked my nemesis Jeff Farqhuar at a comfortable distance of 10 or 20 metres, thinking I might catch him later on. Which I didn’t.

By the time I’d changed and found my camera, Don and Dave were already finished. And Ellen steathily finished as 3rd lady without me noticing.
