Jedburgh Half Marathon

Sunday 31st October.

A nice course, only spoiled by desperate stomach pains from before halfway until the end.

Quite undulating to start along a back road beside the Teviot before picking up the main Kelso road. Then almost completely flat until mile 11 where you cross the Teviot and climb up to the A68 for a downhill run into the finish.

Started OK with first mile sub-6, but then felt sluggish and dropped to about 19th place by halfway (40:45). Damon, with a handful of children, gave me a shout at mile 7 to start reeling them in. So despite the inner turmoil in my guts I dug in and started picking them off, taking about 4 places in the last mile.
