Hunters Bog Trot

Hunter’s Bog Trot today had a record field of around 150 which delayed the start 10 minutes or so. Conditions were really good for the race and there were 3 Westies taking part, JD the Younger, myself, and the Grim dishevelled chap from the east. Young Mr Denovan had an absolutely cracking race finishing in 19th position in 34:25ish ……I was well back in over 40 minutes and the chap in the off-yellow, doesn’t look remotely like a westies top, can i sell you a Big Issue, sort of a guy was another minute or two later. Alastair Anthony won in just under 30mins and no idea who was first lady …..I haven’t done this race for 4 or 5 years and I think they’ve changed the route a wee bit on the way up to the crags as it was definitely more direct in the past. Good to see 3 westies in the far east and after YP’s usual incredible prize giving display a pint in Jennie Ha’s was just the thing before heading home on the train.
