JD and I had a bit of an epic cycle ride yesterday from Galashiels. 200km or 124 miles of hilly roads via Traquhair, St Mary’s Loch, Megget/Talla Reservoirs, Tweedmuir, Devil’s Beeftub, Moffat, St Mary’s Loch again, Hawick, Newton St Boswell, Melrose and finally back to Galashiels after 10.5 hours, and 8.5 hours of cycling. Pretty vile unpleasant weather for much of the middle part, getting pelted with rain and hail, but thankfully improved for the final section.
