Conic Hill Club run

What a great evening I had yesterday out on a Westies club run for the first time in a long while. There was a great turn out on a fine night with the full moon trying to shine through. I was quite apprehensive, even more so when I discovered the route was being run in the reverse of what I had psyched myself up for and I was going to have to warm up at pace for  about a mile and a half on road first, then endure a long, long uphill to the West Highland Way before heading up and over Conic Hill. I was so encouraged by fellow Westies as we waited to start in the biting gale. And I must thank Simon and Andrew for their company and chat along the way. Once I got going, I was in my element, loving the buzz of being out on a hill in the dark on a Wednesday evening. A great route, giving road trail and hill. And I even travelled a new route off Conic Hill and round the Lochside past the Balmaha jetty. What a joy. Thank you pals (as Gerard Kelly used to say in pantomime!). Looking forward to next time.
