Calderglen 10K

Friday night races are great… especially when you get lovely conditions, like last night out at Calderglen Park.

Five “competing” athletes and two bystanders made it feel like quite a Westies’ occasion. Drew, Dave Calder, David Riach, JD and myself ran while Swaz (minus ‘burd’) and Margaret (his new burd?) screamed from the roadside as the heroic Westies zoomed by.

While David and JD raced off with the rest of the fast bunch, Drew paced Dave and myself for the first kilometre before Dave decided to get serious. And serious he got! While I clung desperately to his heels for the first three or so kilometres, Dave was too strong and continued picking up places, eventually catching and beating JD.

David had another good “competitive” race in the black and yellow to finish in around 40 mins. Not too sure about anyone else times, although Drew wasn’t in too far behind myself.

No competing women representatives incidentally.

Recommended race.
