Dumbarton 10k

Results

The Dumbarton 10k (part of the Polaroid series) came the day after the Kilpatricks Hill Race. However I felt pretty fresh as the Kilpatricks had passed me by in a sleep deprived kind of haze (I think I ran it!) due to coming off night shift.
So, the usual hustle and bustle continued and I started to feel a bit toe tappingly nervous as we lined up at the start. This race is practically on my doorstep so it would have been rude not to take part!
It may have been the power of positive thought, but it felt like the whole route was downhill and after the slightly cramped start it, the race soon thinned out and getting into a stride was easier. I knew the route well, and knew when to keep my mouth shut, the draw back of the cycle track is the flies. Extra protein was not required on that day!
There were six Westies running, although I only saw Gaynor and Chris to say hello to, finishing times were:

Well done to everyone who ran, hope you all enjoyed it – next in series is the Vale of Leven 10k, 10am Sun 10th of June. (fingers crossed that one feels downhill too!)
