The new version of the Kilpatricks Hill Race. Large scale forestry operations in the area saw a new route in 2018 and again in 2019. Now the race is a short and speedy. It starts with a short run along the tarmac before winding along a narrow path to the most Westerly point of Slacks Ridge (CP1). Then the route takes you to the summit (CP2) via a choice of paths. A sharp right turn sees you heading south through the summit bog until you find the rapid descent down to the cattle-grid and final blast down the road. Finally, a rapid descent through the grassy farmers field takes you to the finish line.

19.30 on 31 May 2023 – entry on the day – cash only – price £5.

All competitors are required to carry map, compass, whistle and full-body weatherproof cover. No refreshments are available on the course but will be provided at the finish line.

Parking is extremely limited at the race start. Race parking is provided at Clydebank Dalnottar Crematorium (G81 4SL), the car park will be available from 6 to 10.30. It is under 1 mile from the race start. Competitors are strongly encouraged to car-share or travel by public transport – Kilpatrick railway station is 200 m from the race start and trains run every 30 minutes.
