Central Lancashire New Years Half-Marathon 2019
I ran this race. It went well.
Thought I might be able to win for the first five miles, then realised I probably couldn’t.
I slowed down a bit in the second-half. Because I went too fast at first? Or did I get lazy once the top-spot was out of reach? Or was it out of reach because I got lazy? Maybe I could’ve won?
The last half mile was desperate but otherwise I stayed on top of the pace for the duration.
The odd short hill but an otherwise unremarkable, and pleasant, countryside course.
Had to catch a train so missed the prize-giving; gutted.
Certainly one of the longer half-marathons I’ve done.

Yeah, the old “long” half marathon” excuse! Well done, great time and result.
Thanks John! Everyone I spoke to on the day agreed that we enjoyed the extra distance!
