Huge turnout of westies at the first Bog and Burn of 2015 at Beinn Dubh. It was my first time doing this race and first bog and burn since 2013. My plan was to keep it nice and steady and enjoy the run.  This went out the window when I spotted James 5 or 6 places ahead on the climb and set about chasing him. The climb seemed to go on and on and James got no closer… all that effort for nothing. When I spotted the cairn I was delighted that the unrelenting climb was over, but after 2 minutes of downhill my legs were screaming at me to slow down and my feet were starting to burn, thankfully I managed not to lose any places on the down hill (passed two and got passed by two). A great Wednesday night, and fantastic start to the bog and burn. Well done to Gregor on his fantastic 3rd and Suzie must have been well up there in the Women’s race too (I didn’t spot her coming over the line).
