Disclaimer : Any exaggerations in this report are fully intentional. On the 3rd May 2021, in a new study,  Glasgow was named as the rainiest city in the UK. On Wednesday 27th October 2021 Glasgow lived up to it’s soggy reputation. As the day unfolded the city was subjected to a downpour of biblical proportions

Dunbartonshire XC Champs

17 Westies made the journey down to Balloch Castle Park for the Dunbartonshire XC Champs.  The Guys ran a stormer with 2nd 3rd and 4th places and picking up 1st male team. Gordy McCaffrey also did us proud with another 1st V60 prize.  The ladies got 4th team and young Sarah Cordeaux was 8th lady.

DAAA XC Champs 2014

Results The 2014 DAAA XC Champs were held in the beautiful setting of Balloch country park. The weather was perfect, the views from the castle down on to Loch Lomond were  amazing and the conditions underfoot good. We had the best turnout of Westies so far this year for a XC and an added bonus was Chris running in a Westie

National XC Relays Cumbernauld 2014

A coldy windy and wet Cumbernauld park. Perect XC conditions. A good Westie turnout with the icing on the cake being Big Dave Calders sprint finish captured for posterity on the SA website. Sad news also. Our Gazebo got trashed in the windy conditions. Results

Had a decent climb passing and moving steadily away from Gordy Bulloch. On the approach to Ben Cleuch I could see that my usual adversaries were all ahead

Ladies Results  Mens Results Five Westies ran the 4k course at Bellahouston yesterday with Jo and Gaynor representing the girls and Chris Jamie and I for the lads. Jo just pipped Gaynor who as always gave her all in a top class field. Jamie went off like a rocket surprising Chris who didn’t pass him

Tinto Hill Race Sat 9th Nov 2013

Results Another fantastic days racing on Tinto Hill. The weather cleared following a freezing cold downpour prior to race start and stayed off for the duration. Yet again I struggled on the ascent but redeemed myself on the downhill having a ding dong with Dave Calder and Brian Brennan and managing to catch big Gus

National XC Relays 26/10/2013

To finish off the cross country relay season Westies managed 4 teams male A&B and female A&B at Cumbernauld House Park. The best and toughest 4k course in my opinion but so enjoyable. The girls set off first with Ellie Cat and Elizabeth team A and Gaynor and Claire team B, Sharon had to pull
