Ribbon of Gold

I once stood on a hilltop I felt pain and joy in equal measures As the pain of my speedy ascent receded and with the sun low in the sky I looked downwards and the Forth threaded through Stirling towards Edinburgh and could only be described as a silent liquid ribbon of gold My heart

Wild Westie Wednesday Wanderings

Disclaimer : Any exaggerations in this report are fully intentional. On the 3rd May 2021, in a new study,  Glasgow was named as the rainiest city in the UK. Had a decent climb passing and moving steadily away from Gordy Bulloch. On the approach to Ben Cleuch I could see that my usual adversaries were all ahead

SA Short Course XC Champs Sun 10th Nov 2013

Ladies Results  Mens Results Five Westies ran the 4k course at Bellahouston yesterday with Jo and Gaynor representing the girls and Chris Jamie and I for the lads. Jo just pipped Gaynor who as always gave her all in a top class field. Jamie went off like a rocket surprising Chris who didn’t pass him

Tinto Hill Race Sat 9th Nov 2013

Results Another fantastic days racing on Tinto Hill. The weather cleared following a freezing cold downpour prior to race start and stayed off for the duration. Yet again I struggled on the ascent but redeemed myself on the downhill having a ding dong with Dave Calder and Brian Brennan and managing to catch big Gus
