chapelgill junior race

Two Westies juniors (aka Fraser & Cameron Reid) turned out to try the new Chapelgill course for micro hillrunners. As usual Martin Hymen was there to offer encouragement as a very healthy field of approx 20 sproggs of varying ages set off like there was no tomorrow. Two course were available, one that went 1/2

BISHOPHILL RACE

Thought i better write a brief race report to spread the load! Weather stayed dry long enough to allow just over 100 runners ( a good turnout for a low key non champ race!) to enjoy a breezy but sunny race. Young Robbie Simpson (or is it Stewart? i can’t remember) from Stonehaven blew everybody

Dumbartonshire cc relays

While the bulk of the club was enjoying the fleshpots of Loch Ossian, a few of us defended the honour of the club at the Dumbartonshire relays at Posties park. As the current champions, the pressure was on us to perform. Nigel ran a strong first leg, starting off slow and gradually building it up

20 juniors ran the alternative bad weather course at Tinto this year. The Junior course cut off the main path just before the climb began and traversed below the hill for a few hundred matres before cutting straight up through the heather to rejoin the main path. From here it was a mad dash back

TINTO SENIOR RACE RESULTS

TINTO REPORT PART 2 What a fantastic day. Best conditions that I can remember for Tinto, though the start was a bit tricky running in to the sun. Found myself in the usual company of Steff and JD on the way up, but Steff put in a superb effort to gradually pull away from us

Ben Lomond report

This years race went really well without any time keeping cock-ups like last year. Going in heavy handed at the start and finish certainly payed off! Despite the ropey forecast, the weather wasn’t too bad although the summit marshals assure me that it was pretty damn cold up top. Fortunately most runners heeded my advice

Deborah delivers results in Italian Job

Westies junior Deborah Stokoe had a brilliant run at the recent Marco Germanetto races in Susa near Turin in Italy. Deborah , having originally been selected as the reserve, was a very commendable 4th overall (only 35sec behind the winner from Russia)., with Rachel Armitage sixteenth. Unfortunately the Junior Women’s team was reduced to two
