The 7th relay in 6 weekends for Westies. Don ran the first leg in 31:06, followed by John Quinn who ran the exact same time on Leg 2. Whilst I was waiting for Ciaran to complete Leg 3, the remaining 6 or 7 runners were gathered for a mass start. Then Ciaran suddenly appeared so I got a small headstart on the mass start. I caught 5 or 6, but was mainly running on my own in torrential rain towards the end. Matthew White of Dundee passed after a couple of kilometres, but I more or less kept him in sight for the rest of the stage to finish in 28:20.

Shettleston won overall by more than 4 minutes, and Glasgow Uni were first women’s team.
