Training Runs

Our main training night is on Wednesday evening. During the winter months, we usually meet at Garscube Sports Complex with the run starting at 6:30pm. Please check the list of runs below, since not all Wednesday runs start from Garscube.

On Mondays we usually meet at the corner of Cleveden Road and Cleveden Drive for hill reps, starting at 6:30pm, but check the list below for details.

Hill reps on hill 4. This session will be a mix of ups, downs, and fancy footwork. Approximately nine reps in total.

Superstars. Back to the seventies for some running orientated multi-event type challenges in pairs. Likely to include sprints, steps, jumps and the like.

Eight reps. Three to warm up, then five on hill 3 which will contain a downhill element but will be mostly uphill if that makes any sense.

Steps. Tonights wee session will be some fun and reps on the 4 flights of steps that are not steps with the usual quad busting sprints and relays. If you are late then remember you will find us across the way in the Weymouth and Manchester Drive vicinity.

An interim jog and effort session to jog round the Lock 27 time trial course in case you do not know it. Overall, the session will be an easy going 30 min or so. Meet at the usual corner of Cleveden for take off round the course at 18:30. Next week is the real thing.

Lock 27
Summer time and the living is easy. But not the Lock 27 time trial. Meet at Lock 27, Anniesland, from 6pm to get warmed up, register so as to speak and collect your handicap time. We will aim to get the slower runners away from around quarter past with the fastest half past. We will be looking for some good times and PBs after all the summer activity.

After this we continue holidays until later in september when the whole damn thing will go round in a big loop with the start of dare I say it winter 2012 to 2013 training. Easy does it.

The commencement of winter 2012 - 2013 reps. This is an excellent opportunity to get out on a regular monday night basis throughout the darkest and dampest of winter nights, work on base fitness, and gradually sharpen up over an extended programme of sessions into 2013. Whatever your ability, age, gender or anything, come along, join the gang and have some fun. This first session will be an easy introductory 6 reps over 20 minutes or so. Look forward to seeing you.
