Cumbernauld Sat 22 October
I spectated, it was great. Others raced, they found it hard work. And the trees looked great.

This was my first race for the club and the first in several years so it was fitting it was eventful. On arrival I couldn't find anyone I recognised so wandered around for a while and paniced as the womens race was finishing. I thought I would go back to the school to see if anyone had registered. Well the 2 miles there and back proved a good warmup as on my return Lynne, my partner, had seen a westies vest set off on the already started mens race. I eventually saw a group with a yellow vest, introduced myself and was told to hurry up as I was on the second leg. After this the race was a doddle. At least I wasn't last and passed one person so no complaints from me. The only confusion was that there were only supposed to be 2 of is the B team yet I suddenly saw Drew awaiting me in transition. Further pride that the team wasnt last either, and what was initially a B team of 2 magically became a whole team. Hooray the us!

Nice one Jason. You can guarantee that nothing will ever be straight forward with Westies - welcome to the fold!
