Lomonds of Fife 05

Surprised nobody's written this yet - maybe they still can't sit at a PC for thistle wounds....

A last minute cloud cover reprieve saved us from the scorching sunlight experienced during the drive over to Strathmiglo. Having been held up getting onto the Bridge, I arrived a little late to find Chris, Manny, Luke, Pete and Elsie warming up in a field full of cow pats. Manny had described this race as very runnable - I really should know better by now..

There are loads of previous reports on the route of this race - suffice to say it hasn't changed and the hard gravel path is still there.

Climbing to East Lomond, the Westies crew came into view on their return leg.. Manny passed me first in 5th place, then Chris about 12th and Luke about 16th. I missed Pete but saw Elsie on the climb on my way back.

Manny made his way up to 3rd on the second ascent of West Lomond, but the Elevator-esque descent was still to come. He was passed by some Carnethy guy with a faster ar$e than his..

Chris came in next (about 10th ?), then Luke in 18th, myself in 20th, Pete about 30th (?)

Elsie rescued the Podium Honours for Westies as 1st Vet.

Luke's colleague, Caroline looked a little shaken by the final descent - Apparently Luke had told her it was an easy hill race to start with...will she be back ?
