Strathpeffer Highland Gathering HR
Short, stiff with vertiguous traverse and 300feet vertical scramble on all fives (yes, belly too..) through wet bracken and nettles to first summit.
1200 feet, 4 miles of pain - especially the descending. Why do my legs keep cramping up on the descents ?
Finished about 10 minutes after leader at a steady hobble after stopping no less than 4 times on the descent to try and shake the cramp / lactic / pain / whatever it is / out of my right quad...
Nice atmosphere at the games arena to finish - once you'd dodged the hammer throwers and the grass track cyclists.
Won by some speedy Andrew ?guy from Cambuslang in about 28 minutes. Apparently he won Creag Dhu at Newtonmore ?
Don't wear green shorts with your Westies vest - everybody thinks your Australian...
