Coledale Horseshoe
9 miles / 3400ft
Slightly mad, but I drove down from Glasgow for the evening to Braithwaite for this mid-week Lakes Classic. Lower numbers than last year, despite a perfect evening for the race. In fact the weather was so good, it seemed a shame to be racing instead of taking in the fantastic scenery and stunning evening light.
I didn't stay for the results or prizes, but my guess for top 4 would be:
1. Simon Booth, Borrowdale
2. Mark Denham-Smith, Keswick
3. Scoffer Schofield, Borrowdale
4. Mark Croasdale, Royal Marines

Thanks, Chris for yet another interesting race report.I have nothing against the disqualifications but surely it should have happened before the start of the race instead of at the finish if only to reinforce the safety aspect of following the rules.Regards,Max.

Disqualifying people after they've safely completed a hill race is a disturbing development as far as I'm concerned. If safety was the issue, they should be booted off the startline, not after they've finished. But none of the runners can't say they weren't warned.
