Meall an T
Oh yes, I did Meall an T on Saturday as well as The Half Nevis. Actually really enjoyed Meall an T as it was a fairly small affair without the usual hassle and hype. Just turned up 30 minutes before the start, registered got changed and ran off. Lost the results, but as far as I
remember the stats were:
38 starters, Ronnie 2nd at 31:xx minutes, Don 9th at 35:xx minutes, myself 17 at 40:xx minutes, etc, etc. Show me these summer league points Manny!!! Weather was ideal.
One chap, who dared to wear road trainers, slipped constantly on the way down, and seconds after I overtook him must have had a really bad one, as I saw him later holding a cooling towel to his groin area. Hence, if you are planning to have a family wear hill shoes when running on steep hills.
Sunday was much warmer and sunnier with a larger turnout. Again, mainly Lochaber guys. 68 runners. Nice race as there were lots of spectators along the route; many of whom gave some form of encouragement. Results: Ronnie 2nd, 57:xx (???), myself 35 or so at 1:15. I forward results as soon as I get them in from John Hepburn.
