Bishophill

OK, so the photos didn't appear!

If someone could tell me how to load my steam-driven pictures onto an electronic site, then I would be most grateful; as I am sure the subjects of said pictures would also be pleased to see their mugshots on file.

Gordon, here are Blair's instructions (below) that he sent out at the time when the photo upload feature was added to the site. It looks longwinded but is actually quite straight forward mate! By the way, get yourself an e-mail address soon, saves lots of hassle - you can set up a Hotmail or Yahoo, etc in about 2 mins and you can log on to it whenever you want - you know you want too :-)

Upload photographsYou can now upload photographs to accompany any race report or news item (or attach them to an existing report). All you do is click the link ‘add photos to this report’ where you are taken to a screen to choose your images from your own computer. You upload one image at a time and can provide a caption too. The name and year of the race appear in the caption box already, to save you writing it out! Eventually the images appear at the foot of the report. Points to watch:

 After you upload your first image a wee thumbnail appears with the caption below to confirm the success of the procedure; don’t confuse yourself with that caption when you load up the next one! Images are limited to JPG. If you accidentally upload an image that isn’t a JPG, then it will still upload but it won’t display next to the report on the website. Try not to upload images smaller in size than 640 pixels wide by 480 pixels high; this causes the thumbnails to look crap. Please ensure the filename of the file you are uploading isn’t longer than 100 characters (including the .jpg bit at the end!). Caption should be a maximum of 255 characters (about 40 to 50 words approx.) Don’t upload two images with identical names to the same report.
