Penmaenmawr Fell Race
11 miles / 1500ft. Near Conwy, North Wales.
Overnight freezing rain had left the North Wales hills plastered with fresh snow. The race started from Capelulo village hall, up steep tarmac then out onto more or less runnable fellside.
I held the lead for 400 metres or so before letting Welsh internationals Alun Vaughan and Dylan Jones get past to show the way, which is basically a clockwise loop around Tal y Fan.
I lost touch with the first 5 runners, but held onto 6th place for most of the way, until the final run in where Crispin's superior speed, and Steve Jones' superior corner-cutting got the better of me.
