Summer League Finale
Well, what a season!
Chris bagged the mens title with a race in hand and his tactic of doing nearly every race (in the Scottish & FRA calender I mean!!) worked beautifully with everyone else taking holidays, getting injured or just fed up and dropping points. Still, his average points were high and we all know what points make......prizes!! boom boom!
Well done Chris, you can have a rest now. Really, you can!
A valiant effort by last years Champ,Don came very close but oh those missed points....
Don had a good final run at Tinto, getting it right up the pretentious Steffan and an extra-wide JD.
Don brought so many juniors with him that I was considering giving him an extra point per junior...what do you think Chris?
Big Steffan, has improved dramatically over the last 2 years and must have had a huge grin as he held on from JD for the extra point that got him onto the podium just in front of Ronnie G. Well done Steff, excellent effort.
The Wummin took the race to the wire.
It was down to Tinto between Ana and Elsie for the title, but special mention has to be made of oor Pat.
Pat was right up there for a long spell of the season before some very dodgy race marshalling forced her to retire from the 2 Breweries and effectively out of the Westies & SHR title chases.
Well done for hanging in there Pat.
I hear the race marshal is recovering well, but shall take no further part in the human reproductive cycle.
Anyway, at Tinto Ana made it to the summit first with about a 30 second lead over Elsie and must have thought she could hold it, but as we all know it's sometimes harder to hold a lead than it is to close one down from behind, and experienced whippit Elsie took the opportunity and blasted past Ana on the way down to storm to victory!!!!
Well done girlie, a well deserved league win, although Ana, through a haze of white wine on Saturday night - propped up between me & Charlie, pointed out that as newly elected Treasurer she couldn't possibly waste more club funds on yet another stupid trophy that no-one wants anyway, trying to save Elsie dusting and how does she bloody train anywa.. and another thi...hic. Ooooh!
No, Ana is a real star for not giving up and hanging in there until the skinny girl sang. Great grafting Doc.
Of course there were some good times and positions throughout the season, and the Wummin produced great results in the Scottish Champs to come second, only losing to posey Carnethy at the death, but turning out for every champ race!!
Guys, take note.
Well done to all those who grabbed a few points along the way this year and to those who got in race reports and got results to me.
Tips for next season - Nigel & Sara.
Keep taking the drugs.

Thanks again Mannie for organisng another fun packed summer league. I had a blast trying to outpoint Mr Upson. Full credit and congrats to him, he ran really well this year. He better watch himself in the Winter league though. I'm out for revenge!! Be afraid Chris, be very afraid.
